The Church

Seating 700 or so, on the sloping ground floor and gallery on three sides, Knox Church provides a compact, intimate auditorium for live theatre and music in a beautiful historic setting.

Knox Church has a high quality sound system and a modern lighting system to enhance performance, with additional power outlets in the stage area. A high-resolution camera is placed under the gallery at the back of the church for live-streaming and recording. The camera can zoom and focus on particular areas of the church for solo performances or speeches.

A clear, level area of 12.5m by 4.8m is available for orchestras, or extra staging. Church staff and volunteers are
available to assist with arrangements and operations.

Knox Church has been the venue for events as varied as Bic Runga, the St Kilda Brass Band, the Tower Youth Orchestra and the City of Dunedin Choir, chamber music performances and organ recitals.

Stuart Hall

Stuart Hall has a capacity of 100 people. It is situated on the first floor, accessed by staircase and also mobility access off Pitt Street. There is a kitchen adjoining which may also be hired.

The Rooms

Our rooms are regularly used by local groups, and come in three sizes – seating up to 50, 20 or 15. All have tea-making facilities and are on the ground floor of the building.
